Cindy Glavas

Cindy has over 25 years of soccer experience, including 10 years of coaching. She played college soccer at Chapman University, where she receieved a B.A. in Communications, and was captain of the womens soccer team. She currently holds the school record for most career points (goals and assists), and was elected as a First Team All-American two years in a row. After Chapman, Cindy went on to receive her masters degree in counseling psychology from National University. She now lives in Brea with her husband and two young children, and currently plays soccer in the Orange County Womens and Placentia-Yorba Linda YMCA leagues.

Cindy is excited to be able to share the great game of soccer with women of all skill and fitness levels, and most of all, she wants women to know that they CAN play soccer. Even women who have never before kicked a ball absolutely can play this game—and can have a blast doing it.

Anna Padilla

Anna attended Cal State Dominguez Hills for two years and UCI for three years where she earned her bachelors degree, and continued on to Hope International for her teaching credential and masters degree. She has been playing soccer for over 26 years and received the MVP award in her final year of college. Anna has worked at soccer camps for six years, and also coached three years of high school soccer.

Anna currently plays soccer in the Orange County Womens and Placentia Yorba Linda YMCA leagues. She is an absolute leader on the field and the girls she plays with are uplifted by her positive and caring attitude. Anna is a truly amazing player, who has so much to offer! For Anna, soccer has been one of the most fantastic activities in her life. Not only is it an amazing workout but she has met many life-long friends, including her husband, while playing the game. Through the years she has found very few fun workouts that challenged her body and keept her in as good of shape as soccer did. Another bonus is that soccer is a great stress reliever...running around with your best pals and working together as a team to score goals and win matches.

Bijan Chavoshan

Bijan is what you would describe as a soccer fanatic! He absolutely LOVES this game, and can not wait to share this with Just For Kicks participants. Bijan has played organized soccer since he was seven, playing in club and high school as well as Vanguard University (formerly SCC). He also played in the So Cal Premier Division Men's League for over 10 years where he met and played with many current and past professional international players. He keeps in shape now by training with some of the best players in Orange County, and keeps his mental skills sharp by watching over 10 international soccer games per week - did we say he was a fanatic?!?!

Bijan coached at Dana Hills High School and currently coaches the Fullerton Storm team in the Orange County Womens Soccer League. To say he is a wonderful womens coach would be an understatement....his patience and love of the game shines through as he skillfully encourages the women he coaches to reach their full potential.

Leah Monson

Leah has over twenty years of soccer experience.  She played at Cypress College where she was a first team all-conference selection both years.  After Cypress, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in social work from Cal State Long Beach and a master’s degree in social work from University of Nevada, Reno.  Most recently, she completed her law degree at Chapman University.

Leah currently plays in both the Orange County Women’s Soccer League and the YMCA league, and is involved as a coach with the Fullerton Rangers youth soccer organization.

Leah is a wonderful addition to the Just For Kicks team, and is excited to share her knowledge of the sport with other women.  Leah is a lot of fun to be around, so anyone in her class is sure to have a great time!

Kim Berg

Kim has 27 years of soccer experience. As team captain of her team at Canyon High School, she had an amazing career, and currently holds the record for most goals (48) scored in a season. Named Orange County’s Athlete of the Year in 1992 and 1993, she played on the Olympic Development Program’s state and regional teams.  Kim was also a member, and team captain, of a club soccer team that won the under 16 national championship.  After her high school career, she received several scholarhip opportunities to play soccer at the Division 1 level.  Kim has gone on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Child Development.  She was a member of the Dean’s list and graduated with high honors.  She has also received her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and is currently teaching elementary school.

Kim currently plays soccer in the Orange County Women’s and Placentia Yorba Linda YMCA leagues.  She is married with two beautiful children.  Kim truly loves the sport of soccer and hopes that, through the Just For Kicks program, she can share her passion with others.  Kim is a great leader who knows how to encourage others with positive support - and she is so excited to have the opportunity to work with women of varying skill and fitness levels.

Erika  Brechtel

An instructor-in-training, Erika joined Just for Kicks initially as a participant in an Intermediate session. After a 10 year break and a knee surgery, Erika was eager to get back in the game. As she began re-learning the sport and gaining confidence through Just for Kicks, she quickly realized that she also enjoyed helping the newcomers learn more about soccer - and have fun doing it! She is excited to be a part of the Just for Kicks team, and believes in the non-competitive, encouraging Just for Kicks’ attitude as a great way to get in shape.

Erika had the experience of a lifetime playing Division 1 soccer for the UCLA women’s team. There she earned a degree in Art History, and currently owns a graphic design firm. She and her husband have just recently moved to Fullerton, and Just for Kicks has provided Erika a great way to meet other women in the area. She has also just joined the Orange County Women’s Soccer League, which she feels she couldn’t have done without the knowledge and encouragement of the Just for Kicks staff. She hopes to do the same for other women who want to play soccer, be fit, and have fun!
